Byrne W. Jackson
Book Cover Artist

Author, Judy Prudhomme, offers her most sincere appreciation to professional artist and art educator, Byrne W. Jackson, for his powerful and insightful book cover design of The New Ones of Atlantis. His devotion to the perfection of this project was admirable. He read the book thoroughly, studied the characters carefully, and accomplished the rendition and spiritualization of the three New Ones that he sought to achieve.
The New Ones of Atlantis is Mr. Jackson's first book cover design but only one of his many achievements. A Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Environmental Design and Art from the College of Fine Arts at the University of Houston (Houston, Texas), 1980 was only the beginning of Mr. Jackson's art endeavors. He earned a Teacher's Certification, 1992, from the College of Art Education at the University of Massachusetts and won U of M's Departmental Award for Excellence (Dartmouth, Massachusetts). He continued his education by attending classes at the Worchester Art Museum (Worchester, Maine) and the Rhode Island School of Design (Providence, Rhode Island). In 1993, he achieved his second Teacher's Certification in Newport from the state of Rhode Island. Ten years later, after moving back to his hometown of Houston, 2003, Mr. Jackson received his third Teacher's Certification in Texas.
From 1987 to 2004, Mr. Jackson achieved seven (7) Solo Exhibitions, twenty eight (28) Selected Group Exhibitions, won twelve (12) awards, commissions and grants, and participated in fourteen (14) television and news media reviews. He has taught art at museums, galleries, and schools in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Texas. At present, 2007, he is a Photography and Electronic Media Instructor at Cypress Creek High School (Houston, Texas).
